Contact any of our offices in Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket and Hau Hin, and we'll be pleased to assist you with the most important application you may ever undertake - your UK fiancé visa application. Some guidelines on the submission of a successful fiance visa application: You must prove to UK immigration that: * within a reasonable time of entering the UK you intend to marry or enter into a civil partnership usually within 6 months) * after marriage or civil partnership, you plan to live together permanently* you have in fact met each other you will be able to find residence in the UK until you're married or have registered your civil partnership. This includes your dependants. * you will not be a burden on public funds * you have sufficient finances to support you even without working - again you must not be a burden on public funds, as during this six months you will not be allowed to find work. After your successful entry to the UK, and after your lawful marriage or civil partnership ceremony, You can apply for a two year extension to your UK spouse visa which will allow you to work in the UK (if your application is granted).
After 2 years of living in the UK, you must again apply to stay - this time as a permanent resident, hich requires passing the "life in the UK" test. Please consider carefully whether applying as a fiancé is the right course of action for you. Siam Legal are available to assist you with this question - sometimes it may help the success of your application to marry prior to applying for a visa. Each case is different & we stress its important to get reliable advice on this matter.
How can you apply for the UK Fiancé / Fiancée Visa? * You need to apply for entry from outside of the UK, unless you're engaged to an EU Citizen (not a British citizen, EU citizens include French, German, Spanish, as an example of a few EU citizen nations). * You can apply from the British embassy in Bangkok, Thailand. * Once UK immigration grants your fiancé visa application you must marry within six months of the date your visa is granted. Only exceptional circumstances can delay this procedure past the initial period of 6 months. * Your fiancé or fiancée must be 16 years old or older, and the sponsor in the UK must be 18 years or older. * You show that you intend to reside together after marriage. * Your dependants will only be allowed entry to the UK if they are under 18, and it can be proven that leaving them behind would cause serious problems for the youth. Because of this it may be easier to marry first, then apply under a spouse visa, which will make the entry of dependants easier.
